Meet the Chef

Chef Alison Wonderland Tucker

My passion in life is cooking - for myself, friends, family or anyone interested. I read cookbooks like novels, I set up test kitchens at home to try new recipes, and I dare friends to recall their favorite meals so I can recreate them - I love a challenge!

Years ago I started a small catering company to support the artistic though financially challenging lifestyle of an actress. One gig led to many and I soon knew I would have to make a choice between cooking and acting. There was, at that point, no question that I would pursue my dramatic career, and for years I attempted to find my niche as I continued to cook for friends, family and anyone interested.

Years later I made the final decision to give in to my true and unspoken desires and commit all my time and energy to the most rewarding thing in my life - cooking. I studied at The New School of Cooking in Los Angeles to further hone my self taught abilities and opened A Wonderland of Food soon thereafter. I feel so lucky to be able to share my passion for food with people in the place they feel most comfortable- their homes.

“You were just as wonderful as I could have ever hoped, and your culinary and organizational skills were just astounding. Everyone is contacting me saying what a great time they had, and you really made all that happen -- and seemingly so effortlessly too!
